Air Philippines is a flight of domestic wing operated in Cebu. It is one of a major airline service operated in Cebu and is a low cost airline based in Pasay City, Manila, the Philippines. This flight service operates different domestic scheduled services from Manila and Cebu. The Subic Bay International Airport serves as its main base with a hub at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila.

Historical Perspective:
On February 13, 1995, Air Philippines was incorporated with the base of operations former Naval Air Station Cubi Point. The flight operations of Air Philippines started on February 1st 1996 with a Boeing 737-200 between Subic Bay, Iloilo and Zamboanga. In the year 1996 and in month of April six NAMC YS-11 aircraft were delivered. In the year 1997 Air Philippines carried more than 675,000 passengers and over 773,000 in 1998. In the same year the airline was grounded for some time by the Philippine Air Transportation Office. Once again it was reactivated when U-Land agreed to purchase a stake. In March 1999, Air Philippines was approved to operate international services to countries like South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and USA.
In the year 2001 two Boeing 737-300 aircraft were delivered and in the year 2002 many charter flights started being operated from Subic Bay and Laoag City to Hong Kong. In no time number of passengers increased to around 881,000 in 2002. In July 2004 charter flights started from Subic Bay to Guangzhou. Soon the Air Philippines increased ties with another domestic flight of Cebu the Philippine Airlines. This merging includes the merger of timetables, regular flier plans, and ticket sales. This airline service operated many low cost flights attracting more and more passengers.
Due to its good service the Air Philippines was also awarded many times with many distinctive awards including "Most Outstanding Domestic Airline" four times by the Consumers Union of the Philippines and also several other Regional Awards. The fleet size of this airline is around 20 serving 15 different destinations. The Air Philippines Corporation serves as a parent company of this airline.
Since its inception the met with a major accident in the year 2000 on April 19 flight 541, a Boeing 737-200 crashed near Francisco Bangoy International Airport, Davao City, killing 131 people.
Present Scenario:
Though the older routes are still served by Air Philippines some new routes have also been introduced this include four times every week service, between Cebu City, Cebu and Tacloban City, Leyte begins November 16, 2007. Four times daily service, between Manila and Malay, Aklan to begin on December 15, 2007.
